The Stony Brook Sports Complex

The 5,226-seat Stony Brook Sports Complex opened in 1990 in Stony Brook, NY, and is a multi-purpose arena for the Stony Brook Seawolves basketball, swimming and diving, and volleyball teams. The Sports Complex facilities include courts for basketball, volleyball, racquetball, squash, badminton, a running track, a dance studio, an exercise room, a weight room, lockers, and a pool. The outdoor facilities include tennis courts, outdoor basketball courts, baseball, softball, and soccer fields, multipurpose fields for intramural competition, beach volleyball courts, and a new football/lacrosse stadium.

In April 2008 Stony Brook University announced a $20 million renovation and expansion plan of the complex. The many design enhancements include improved practice courts and a new competition basketball court; a new bowl seating configuration for over 4,000 spectators; a VIP lounge with loge seating; four luxury suites; improved fan amenities; modern arena video technology and indoor training spaces for the track and field programs.

The arena has been the host of I-CON (yearly fan convention) since 1982. During the 2006-2007 season it set a men's basketball attendance record with 4285 while hosting Villanova.
